Mario Diani
Born in Cuorgné (Turin, Italy) in 1957. BA in Political Science (University of Milan, 1982) and PhD in Sociology (University of Turin, 1987). NATO-CNR Fellow at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow (1990). Temporary lecturer in Sociology (Bocconi University of Milan, 1987-1991); assistant professor of Political Sociology (University of Pavia, 1993-1996); professor of Sociology at the University of Strathclyde (1996-2001) and the University of Trento (2001-2010). European Editor for Mobilization (1997-2005), and board member for several journals, including Contemporary Sociology (2006-2009). Appointed in 2010 to the Board of the International Network for Social Network Analysis - INSNA. His work has been funded by the ESRC, the Italian Ministry for Research, the European Commission-DG XII, and the Canadian SSHRC.
